I became an Independent ACN Rep in 1995 at the urging of a family member. I thought it made sense to try to take some money back from the rich big three telephone companies, and wanted to show some support. Deregulation had created opportunities for people to save on exhorbitant per minute calling rates through newer companies like ACN. Right after I joined ACN though I found Cognigen via Google, which offered long distance rates at a lower cost than ACN, with zero Rep signup or recurring fees whatsoever. Cognigen Independent Reps were always in profit on their very first sale, normally to themselves, whereas ACN Independent Reps had to reach a certain sales volume just to reach break-even to recover the initial signup fee and ongoing monthly costs. I never did promote ACN, in part due to availability where I lived and because of recurring business costs and higher break-even point. Even though ACN commissions were twice as lucrative as Cognigen, and ACN did appear to have some pretty cool advanced products, I could be in profit much quicker with Cognigen. Also I could feel good about bringing in even my Grandma into Cognigen as a Rep because there was virtually no risk.
ACN is a technology based company with its world headquarters located in Farmington Hills, Michigan. ACN offers a home business opportunity by selling or marketing technological products through MLM or multi-level marketing. There have been some testimonials from people that have used the ACN products including one example with a statement of crystal clear quality while using their digital phone service.
ACN’s annual revenues have skyrocketed to over half a billion dollars, with annual double-digit growth year after year, and today ACN reigns as the world’s largest direct selling telecommunications service provider. If you buy MLM Leads and try to contact them, it is quite likely that you will get an answering machine, bad number, someone else, or if you do get lucky and actually reach the lead they will more often than not say they are “Not interested”, that they never signed up for anything, demand to be removed from all lists, and end the call or hang up. Some leads will even act hostile towards you simply because you called them, unfortunately for you, because you were the tenth telemarketing to call in 48 hours!
Buying and Using Leads, if done incorrectly, can make the difference between losing money, breaking even, or earning a small profit. Over 95% of people who start a home based business will fail. The experience top five percent uually already have a giant list to market to, or teams of people in place who will follow into their new venture and bring teams along with them. Thus the Gurus on top can fill multiple levels deep in a matter of days or weeks, break records, and even create extra streams of income for themselves by selling leads to their new downline. This type of lead selling behavior should serve as a warning sign. If the upline truly wanted to help the downline they would offer leads free or at cost perhaps to anyone willing to work them.
ACN was founded in 1993 by Greg Provenzano, Robert Stevanovski, Mike Cupisz, and Tony Cupisz. They operate in 19 countries and have over 1,000 employees worldwide. ACN has experienced double-digit growth for the past few years, and are said to reap $500m in revenue annually.
Success as an ACN Representative is not guaranteed, but rather influenced by an individual’s specific efforts. Not all ACN Independent Representatives make a profit. No one can be guaranteed success as an ACN Independent Representative. Controlling costs, including advertising, is one of the key elements of measuring potential of a business to reach profit.
Starting and developing an ACN business can be lucrative if you know how to effectively use the telephone, the Internet, and other effective marketing tools. Just as with any good business, success will be determined largely by the skill-set of the marketer. ACN is definitely not a lottery ticket or a stock option - meaning, you do not just buy in and wait for a payout.
